CABLE TRAYS AND RACEWAYS

The cable tray is a wonderfully efficient tool that we use to manage a large amount of cabling with limited area. With a grounded metal barrier along the centerline to separate power wiring and data/communication cabling, a single, large cable tray installation is capable of routing a large amount of wiring. Also, it heads off the possibility of a disorganized mass of conductors that are difficult to trace when changes must be made or fault located.  So, they are useful to distribute cables from the source to the point of use.

Similarly, the cable trays, according to Art. 392.2 of NFPA 70 (NEC) and Art. 3.3.15 of NFPA 79, are unit or assembly of units or sections and associated fittings forming a structural system used to securely fasten or support cables and raceways.

Raceways is a channel to run cables through, that mounts on a wall, or a desk, or some other surface, concealing wires or cables so your set-up looks nice and pretty. Also, it’s legitimately one of the most useful and versatile cable management tools for both home users and professionals and can do wonders for both a DIY home theater set-up.

The raceways, according to Art. 100 of NFPA 70 (NEC) and Art. 3.3.76 of NFPA 79, channels of metallic or nonmetallic materials designed expressly for holding wires and cables.
